| Kees van der Linden emigrated with his wife and son from The Netherlands in 1989. He and his wife live in St Omer Bay in the Marlborough Sounds and Kees likes to paint and draw in his spare time. Kees gets his inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of the Sounds. |

| Brenda Aitken uses her favourite medium of oils to capture colour, realism and the play of light on objects from her environment. Living in the remote Marlborough Sounds she has a wealth of subject matter. Her studio, from which she sells most of her work, has views down Kenepuru Sound and with a working farm and surrounding natural bush, there is plenty of scope for her work. An empathy with her surroundings is evident from her work and the remoteness has helped her create an individual style not affected by outside influences. Brenda is a believer that people should earth themselves with the soil, the land and the sea and this harmony with nature and its effect on the planet is evident in her work. |
